Artificial Intelligence at the service of Safety

Discover Dragonfly: Onit technology that uses Computer Vision to achieve high levels of safety during warehouse activities.

Computer Vision: AI that immediately catches the eye

Our research work in the field of Computer Vision, a branch of Artificial Intelligence that allows computers to obtain significant information from digital images, videos and other visual inputs, has led us to develop an innovative technology that allows companies to achieve high levels of safety during warehouse activities.

A “Zero Accidents” vision thanks to Dragonfly

This is Dragonfly, a system for locating assets in motion and People Detection that allows you to pursue the “Zero Accidents” vision by exploiting Artificial Intelligence able to “see” where the human eye fails, distinguish objects from people and detect potential situations of danger.

This is achieved thanks to a pre-trained artificial neural network, able to identify up to 80 categories of “elements” (people, cars, bicycles, etc.) and which can be optimised according to the specific environment of the client.

At a hardware level, the Dragonfly system is based on a kit for forklifts consisting of wide-angle cameras, computing units and flashing lights, thanks to which the system can:

  • Detect the presence of people and activate automatic forklift slowdowns, even in blind spot situations
  • Detect the risk of collision between two forklifts and activate slowdown automations
  • Define warehouse areas in which to activate automation to limit the speed of the forklifts

How AI makes the warehouse safer

Reduction of accidents and mortality

V2P, Speed Zoning and Blind Corner minimise accidents.

Reduction of operating costs

V2V and Speed Zoning minimise accidents between forklifts, resulting in substantial cost savings whilst insurance coverage can also be reshaped, lowing costs

Improved reputation

A safe workspace impacts corporate reputation, attracts investment, increases employee satisfaction and fosters talent acquisition

Other uses for Dragonfly

As a technology for People Detection and indoor and outdoor localisation, Dragonfly is also the basis of On.Plant/RTLS – a feature that allows companies to boost the efficiency of warehouse activities.
