We never liked the term “human resources”

That’s why Onit has a People Office – a team specialised in providing each person with a satisfying and inclusive work experience, supporting skill development and human growth, whilst fostering work-life balance.

The same approach that we also adopt outside of Onit, offering opportunities to secondary school and university students and, in addition, promoting initiatives to support the local community.

Because for us, it is a question of people rather than personnel.


Our unique way of providing training

We have long been committed to providing training opportunities for both internal staff and the world of schools and universities. This approach to training took the form of the Onit Academy project, an annual calendar of courses that explore various topics, taught by external teachers and internal staff.

Schools and Universities: for the future inspirers of the future

Onit was founded many years ago around the desks at a University, so we know well the potential of students. Our thesis projects in the company, lectures, tutoring and sponsorships of Degree Courses in the IT field are all activities aimed precisely at developing that potential, spreading a culture of innovation and training the next inspirers of the future.

And then there is our project PCTO (Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e l’Orientamento or, Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation), which every year involves a dozen students from secondary schools in the city for an educative experience in the company. “Like all other Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation,” you may be thinking ... but no, because only ours ends with the Onit Sumobot Cup.

We take care of our territory

Sports and cultural sponsorships, charity and solidarity initiatives. Our attention to people also translates into support for realities, bodies and associations that, with their work, flank those who need it most and contribute to creating opportunities for the people who live in the territory.


Working at Onit is … Great!

We’re not the only ones to say so. In 2023, we obtained the Great Place To Work certification, awarded as a result of an analysis process conducted by the Great Place to Work Italia entity and aimed at evaluating the company climate, the work environment and the level of staff satisfaction.

Certification has also allowed us to identify new paths to take to continue improving the company, spaces and people’s wellbeing, day after day.

For us, IT is 100% inclusive

In 2024, we achieved a milestone that is very close to our hearts: the UNI/PDR 125:2022 certification, relating to policies on Gender Equality.

This certification foresees the adoption of a series of corporate guidelines and protocols on culture and strategy, governance, personnel management, opportunities for women’s development and inclusion, gender pay equity and protection of parenthood and work-life balance.

In addition, we promote various initiatives aimed at all staff, with the aim of raising awareness, spreading a culture on the subject and helping to break down the annoying gender stereotypes that characterise the IT world.

In short, for an increasingly inclusive and welcoming Onit.
