Ospedali Privati Forlì is a healthcare group comprising four facilities in Emilia-Romagna: Villa Igea, Villa Serena, Villa Orchidee in Forlì and Cervia Medical Center. The first two are accredited by the National Health Service, while Villa Orchidee and Cervia Medical Center operate privately only.
Over the years, the group has embarked on a path of innovation aimed at diversifying its service channels and strengthening patient loyalty.
Customer's needs
The goal: integrate, simplify, improve
Ospedali Privati Forlì needed to adopt a solution capable of natively integrating the various applications and departmental systems already in use, while automating administrative and clinical processes such as booking, admission, and billing.
The goal was also to offer patients—both private and public—the ability to book and pay online, computerize medical records and operating room management, and equip themselves with advanced tools for real-time control and monitoring of economic data, productivity, and the achievement of the public operator's commissioning plans.
Another key element was improving the patient experience through an omnichannel approach that integrated the web, apps, and kiosks located in the facilities.
Solution
Technology at the service of efficiency and patients
Onit implemented the Klinika platform for the entire organization, covering the four locations, adopting these main interventions:
•    Integrated operational management: booking, admission, and billing for activities covered by the National Health Service, insurance, and private, all on a single platform.
•    Web portal and patient app: online booking and payment, access to invoices and reports; omnichannel integration with kiosks in the facility for self-service check-in.
•    Regional and departmental integrations: downloading dematerialized prescriptions and sending of clinical documents to the regional Electronic Health Record, connection with existing departmental systems.
•    Computerized medical records and operating rooms: customized modules tailored to the needs of doctors and nurses to comply with internal protocols.
•    Business Intelligence: activation of a BI module for real-time monitoring of costs, revenues, and margins to support managerial decisions.
Klinika was chosen for its ability to natively and consistently manage all operational areas, reducing the need for external modules and simplifying workflows.
